India’s Mission Moon : ISRO’s Lunar Lander Camera Reveals Stunning Images of Far Side Terrain: A Glimpse into Safe Landing Zones

Here are the images of Lunar far side area captured by the Lander Hazard Detection and Avoidance Camera (LHDAC). This camera that assists in locating a safe landing area — without boulders or deep trenches — during the descent is developed by ISRO at SAC

Chandrayaan-3 is scheduled to land on the moon tomorrow – August 23, 2023 around 18:04 IST (6:04 PM). Landing on the south pole of the moon is considered tricky due to the deep trenches and numerous craters. Russia’s Luna-25 crashed on the surface while heading for the south pole.

Chandrayaan-3 Landing Date Change: The planned date for Chandrayaan-3’s landing on the Moon has been shifted. If all goes well, the landing will happen on August 23. However, if there are any issues, the landing might be postponed to August 27, 2023.

What is Vikram lander?

The lander has been build by India & named after Vikram Sarabhai, regarded as the father of the Indian space programme. Vikram, which carries a rover in its belly, is due to land on August 23, 2023Vikram and Pragyan (the rover) are designed to have a life of one lunar day (14 Earth days) powered by the Sun, but a life extension is not ruled out completely.
